Our very own Nora Aunor and Brillante Mendoza emerged as winners in the recently held 6th Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
The awarding was held at the Queensland Performing Arts in Brisbane, Australia, on Friday, November 23, 2012.
Nora Aunor bagged the “Best Actress” award besting all other nominees like Cho Min-soo for “Pieta” of Korea, Darya Ekamasova for “Zila bila odna baba” from Russia, Humaima Malick for “Bol” from Pakistan, and Vidya Balan for “The Dirty Picture” from India.
While Brillante Mendoza clinched the “Best Director” trophy. He beats Anurag Kashyap for “Gangs of Wasseypur” from India, Cheng Er for “Lethal Hostage” from China, Khosro Masoumi for “Khers” from Iran and Reis Çelik for “Lal gece” (Night of Silence) from Turkey.
Chris Martinez, who is nominated for “Best Screenplay” for the film “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” failed to took the bacon.
